Our Current Sermon Series:
The Letter to the Hebrews

  "Building Upon a Foundation"

(Hebrews 6:1-3)

Moving into this important sixth chapter of the Letter to the Hebrews, we begin to see how the concerns of chapter 5 lead into the warning of chapter 6. There is an immediate call to not lay again the foundation that was already laid. The teachings that these Hebrew Christians once received are a foundation that is meant to be built upon. Just as a bare foundation is incomplete, so too are these teachings if they do not lead to faith in the finished work of Christ.

North Johnson City Baptist Church has had the opportunity to serve the Tri-Cities area for decades since being incorporated in 1963.  Nestled in the heart of Johnson City, TN, our church is conveniently located directly across from Towne Acres Elementary School, just off of North Roan Street and I-26 (between exits 19 and 20).

Our church seeks to equip the saints for a life rooted in Christ through sound biblical teaching, expository preaching, and uplifting congregational singing each Sunday morning, as we gather as the body of Christ for a time of reverent worship.

We hold to the historic Baptist confessions of the faith, such as the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689.

Rick Powell has served in ministry at North Johnson City Baptist Church since 2005, and on Reformation Day 2010 was instated as Lead Pastor.

We invite you to reach out if you have any questions about our church, and warmly invite you to visit and worship the Lord with us!
